What is the “BIG BIKE” event? Just that – a bike built for 30 people! The Big Bike has been riding into towns throughout Canada for almost 20 years raising funds for world class research into heart disease & stroke as well as supporting advocacy initiatives locally. Last year, over 40,000 riders, in over 200 communities, helped raise over $7 million for research! This is helping us achieve even greater results that change the lives of not only heart and stroke patients, but for a variety of people! This year the money that is raised will benefit campaigns such as “RESTART A HEART, RESTART A LIFE” which installs Automated External Defibrillators throughout Ontario in high traffic community locations. To date the Heart & Stroke Foundation has installed over 2800 AED’S in Ontario – saving 28 lives in total !

“The Heart & Stroke Foundation is proud to have organizations such as F.A.S.T. Rescue, a long time Heart & Stroke Foundation supporter, sponsor the Big Bike event in York Region” says Jessica Williams, Area Coordinator-Corporate Markets, York Region North, Heart & Stroke Foundation.
