Forklift Operator Summary
Governments are implementing more stringent
occupational health and safety regulations
relating to forklift operation. Forklift
training and certification is good method for
ensuring forklift safety in the
workplace.
We offer on-site forklift training all over the
Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
How long does this
course take?
There are two type of forklift operator courses:
What skills are acquired during my
forklift training?
Forklift training is not just
learning to drive a forklift but also all of the
required skills to manage all aspects of a
forklift operation. During the Theory
portion of the course, you will learn:
- Applicable legislation from the
Occupational Health & Safety Act and
Industrial Regulations
- Workplace Specific Hazard Identification
- Pedestrian Awareness
- Principles of Stability
- Safe Operation
- Pre-shift InspectionFuel Source
- Propane Testing
- There will be a written test at the end
of the course
During the practical portion of the course,
you must:
- Demonstrate pre-shift inspection, good
control of equipment, proper load handling
at all levels, awareness of pedestrians and
obstacles and appropriate
re-fuelling/re-charging procedures
- Practical skills assessment of
approximately 30 minutes per person is
required on each class of truck
