Nova Scotia Safety Regulations are based on the type of workplace and the number of employees in the workplace. Please read through the safety regulations to determine the type of First Aid training and safety equipment required for your workplace. There are a variety of first aid kits recommended for all different size work places.

Training and First Aid Equipment Requirements

  • Minimum of a No. 3 First Aid Kit
50-99 workers (non-office). Includes vehicles, boats and aircraft.
  • 1 Standard First Aider/shift
  • Minimum of a No. 3 First Aid Kit
  • Extra supply of dressings, bandages and antiseptics proportionate to the number of employees in excess of 49
100 or more workers (non-office). Includes vehicles, boats and aircraft.
  • 1 Advanced First Aider/shift
  • First Aid Room
