Dean Turner - President, Instructor Trainer

Dean has an extensive background in First Aid, complimented by years of community service and consulting experience. Dean began his career as a First Aid instructor with the Department of National Defense, where he spent 12 years training soldiers for overseas duties. He furthered his first aid knowledge and skills through work with the Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Dean is a Master Trainer for the Industrial Accident Prevention Association's (IAPA) Young Worker Awareness Program and is a member of their Executive Committee Board. He is a certified Instructor with the Royal Lifesaving Society and an Instructor Trainer for many levels of First Aid Training for the Canadian Red Cross. As a volunteer member of the HeartyParty.com board, Dean has actively promoted Heart Health within York Region. Dean's present and past involvement with community organizations includes the District Health Council, Public Health Department, Regional Fire Departments, Boards of Education, the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Services, Risk Watch Coalition, Scouts Canada and the Safety Services Committee.


 

Shyamala Nathan-Turner - Vice-President, Sales & Marketing

Shyamala has been in the Sales & Marketing field for over 20 years.  While Shyamala is a qualified CPR Instructor for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, she has also had a great deal of experience in training sales, presentation and coaching skills.  She has a Masters of Business Administration through the University of Manitoba which was completed with First Class Honors.  Shyamala is presently in charge of Business Development for F.A.S.T. Rescue.

Meagan Fisher - Office Manager/Instructor

Meagan became an instructor at the age of 18 and has proven to be an excellent asset to FAST Rescue.  Her medical background gives credibility and real life experience to her instructional technique.  Her first- hand knowledge of Automated External Defibrillators and of the various manufacturers make her a specialist in this area.  In addition to her experience, Meagan has won a variety of awards which attest to her skills and make her a valued member of our team.  Presently Meagan works not only as an Instructor for F.A.S.T. Rescue, but also as the Office Manager.  She is a crucial component to ensuring that the day to day operations of the company run smoothly.


Devin Nathan-Turner

Devin is the Shipping Manager at F.A.S.T. Rescue Inc.  Devin's knowledge of the First Aid industry is vast, having been a part of the organization from a very young age.  Devin now is in charge of ensuring that our shipments for both training and supplies are always current.
 

 


Stephen Thiessen - Ergonomics Expert

Ergonomics Expert. Stephen did his Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta in Exercise Physiology and completed his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.  Stephen comes to us with over 14 years of experience in the area of Safety. Stephen has ISO18001 experience and has conducted Material Handling Auditing and Training, Workwell Audits, MSDS Training for both office and manufacturing environments, Ergonomics Auditing and Programs, OHS&E Operations Manuals, IMEs and Functional Testing.


Ken Dorie - Instructor

Ken is an Emergency Response Supervisor for an Emergency Services Unit.  Ken teaches WHMIS and is a First Responder, AED and O2 instructor.  Ken is an instructor for the Canadian Red Cross and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  He has undergone intensive training in Hazard Identification for Workplace Inspection, Personal Injury Accident Investigation and Emergency Preparedness & Disaster Planning.  Ken is certified in courses focusing on the Use of Force, Crime Prevention and Investigative Techniques.

 


Jeff Rook - Instructor (Material Handling)

Jeff brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team.  He has had 15 years experience as an every day forklift operator in a heavy industrial environment, 10 years as Level III certified Joint Health and Safety Committee representative, 5 years experience as a Material Handling Instructor, training new and experienced operators on all classes of industrial equipment, including skidsteer, wheel loader, and aerial work platform.  He is a certified Material Handling Instructor, WHMIS Instructor, Rigging Instructor, Overhead Crane and Hoist Trainer, Aerial Work Platform Instructor and Propane Cylinder Filling and Exchange Instructor.  He has been certified in Standard First Aid & CPR, Fall Protection and in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods.

 


Paul Donnelly
- Instructor (Fire Training)

Paul was the Safety & Security Manager at Gillette and was one of four Hydrocarbon (gas) Safety Auditors for  the Gillette Aerosol facilities in the Western Hemisphere. Paul belonged to the City of St-Laurent, Quebec volunteer Disaster Rescue Group (part of the Fire Service) and retired after 25 years service with them in 1995 as Chief of Operations, Disaster Rescue. Presently, Paul instructs an Industrial Fire Brigade course at North Country International Fire School, in the State of Vermont. He was on their Board of Directors for 15 years and spent 5 years as the School Director. Paul also works for the Ontario Industrial Magazine where he is the Editor for the Safety and Security column.
